Happy Halloween!

Sometimes being a Mom just [literally] melts your heart. This year, Jordan is Tinkerbell and she is very interested in both seeing the Trick-or-Treaters and of course, being, a Trick-or-Treater. We headed out this evening to light the pumpkins we carved this past Sunday (and are now smelling quite bad) and grabbed a few shots of each other... have I mentioned how much she loves taking my camera now?! ... before Daddy took her around the neighborhood and I (wom)manned down the fort and handed out teeth-rotters.

Mom, its my turn with the camera! (I promise that is not posed)

She actually said, "That was a good one" after she took it. I have no idea where this comes from.

Waiting very intently for the trick-or-treaters to arrive...

Even Dad got into it...

Do you think anyone wants some candy????

And in case you were dying to see what amazing pumpkins we carved this year... I went with the "polka dot" (aka, lazy) theme, Jordan's was supposed to be a kitty kat (I can hear you laughing Marie) and Chris's is of course the most traditional and best looking.

We are officially booked up for the holiday portrait season! I have started a waiting list and will let you know on a first come, first serve basis if any slots open up. Please email me if you would like to be added to the waiting list.

The 2007 Schedule: This year, due to my heavy wedding season, I'm only doing a handful of sessions. Most of these will be 40-45 minute "mini-sessions" planned for certain days, so be sure to book your space now if you are interested in a session. These mini sessions will start at $200 for families smaller than six. For specific pricing for your larger family, please inquire.

Holiday cards are also available again this year (see blog post below). These were a big hit (and time saver!) for last years clients, so please let us know if you are interested. They are custom designed and printed on 5x7 heavily weighted card stock (with matching envelopes) through our professional lab and take about 1 week to turn around.

2007 Holiday Portrait Sessions (remaining) Schedule:

Friday, November 2 - 4:00-5:15 BOOKED (Seeley)

Saturday, November 3 - 2:45-3:30 PM BOOKED (Hiland) / 3:30-4:15 PM BOOKED (Poston) / 4:15-5:15 PM BOOKED (Mandel)

Wednesday, November 14 - 4:00 - 5:15 PM BOOKED (Karber)

Friday, November 30 - 4:00 - 5:15 PM BOOKED (Jemmett)

Saturday, December 1 - 9:00 AM BOOKED (Roth) / 4:00-5:15 PM BOOKED (Campisi)

For any dates after December 1, please inquire for availabilty. Because of the rush turnaround for the holidays, any sessions booked between Sun, Dec 2 - Sat, Dec 8 start at $400 per session. No holiday sessions will be booked after December 8th. The studio will be closed December 20-31st for the holidays and vacation. The normal portrait schedule will resume in January.

Sonja and Marcus
Tuesday, October 30, 2007

Sonja and Marcus were married October 20th at The Boulder's Resort in north Scottsdale in a mid-morning ceremony. I went up early that morning to spend some time with Sonja to capture some bridal portraits of her - which was easy to do since she is so beautiful! We had a lot of fun walking around the Golden Door spa and resort in general finding new spots for pictures. Sonja and I really clicked upon meeting (we were both engaged in Italy and found we had several other things in common) and just generally hit it off, so it was really a fun wedding for me. Sonja's mom is an event planner for the PPA in Atlanta and she is really close to both of her parents. She mentioned at the ceremony how much Marcus reminded her of her father and she had told me earlier that she knew she would marry him after their second date!

Here are a few favorites from the day.... I know I have more favs, but I wanted to get these up initially.

A shot during their first dance that I really liked.

I love how the sun rays seem to be highlighting just them during the ceremony.

I thought it was really nice that they made a donation to a charity they support in lieu of wedding favors.

I love how everyone in the picture has a camera :-)

Thank you Sonja and Marcus for sharing your beautiful and fun day with me. You guys are wonderful!

My Jordan
Sunday, October 21, 2007

I had a great wedding yesterday at The Boulders, but Sunday's are typically family day and not a work day for me (this is only a recent change I've made since you can usually find me sitting at this computer 10 hours a day processing photos if I'm not out shooting, so I've desperately needed to implement one off day a week to maintain any sense of balance whatsoever)... so I won't get started processing it until this week. But here are a few very recent shots of our sweet love bug, who is becoming quite the little spunky one lately and is starting to like the camera more. I cant believe she is already 2-1/2...

Stefani & Garret
Friday, October 19, 2007

Stefani and Garret were married last Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort at Gainey Ranch in an intimate and touching ceremony followed by a romantic al fresco reception on the Terrace Court lawn. I had never met the couple in person before their wedding day because Stefani booked me over the internet after seeing my website, so I wasnt sure what to expect. She and Garret live in Missouri, and we talked on the phone and via email many times during the planning process, but it still isnt like the experience of meeting in person. But they surpassed all of my expectations and were just just awesome. Stefani's adorable daughter Sophia played a special role in the day of course and both of their families were very warm and wonderful.

Not to mention it was another truly perfect autumn Saturday in Arizona!

Here are some of my favorites...

Make up by the one and only Kelli Leslie.

I love this shot of Sophie getting ready. She looks very grown up, not 5!

I love, love these next two shots of Stefani

Beautiful gerber daisy bouquets provided by Gatsby's Fine Florist

Love these of Sophie

Pretty details from the day, including the cake provided by the Hyatt.

As the ceremony started, Sophia got a little nervous to walk down the aisle by herself with all that attention on her, so her Grandma walked up to help her feel more comfortable. I love the little pout and pure determination of throwing the flowers down for her Mom's entrance.

Cute kiss moment

This one might be my favorite. I love the moment right after the couple is married because their expressions and emotions are 100% natural and its a fleeting moment that can never be duplicated with the same sense of honesty.

Who doesn't love some bling!

Another tender moment between the couple right after their ceremony.

Some bride and groom portrait time...

LOVE this one too... they were pretty far away from me and we couldnt talk so they were off doing their own thing and Garret started dancing Stefani around. I love how they are looking at each other.

Some traditional portraits of the beautiful couple.

The family sharing a dance together.

A very tender moment between Stefani and her dad.

I'll probably have a few more to post, but these were some of my favorites so far.
Thanks Stefani and Garret for sharing your beautiful day with me!
