Maternity Photo Session
Wednesday, May 20, 2009

I'm happily announcing with this post that I have officially hired on an associate photographer! Jenny Bishop has joined my team to help photograph sessions when I am unable to and she did a great job on this one! I still process the photos in the way that I would for clients, but it's a great opportunity for clients who may need sessions on days that I am already booked or would like a more affordable associate rate. Jenny is a wonderful person, excellent with kids, and a great photographer! Im so happy to have her as part of the team now. I will be expanding the associate option for weddings in the near future as well.

Here are the images she took for a recent maternity session with Wendy and her family:

Allyson and Carlos were married two weeks ago at DC Ranch Country Club in north Scottsdale - and they just missed the heat wave that has since rolled in! It was a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding. This is probably one of my favorite venues because the courtyard has such a romantic, old-world Tuscan feeling to it, with the large tree all light up with lights. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Event Planner & Coordination - Jennifer Thye of Imoni Events (who by the way is a total rock star. Jen and her team are among the best in AZ and a wonderful, hands-on presence for couples.)

Hair & Makeup - Linda Wagner (another total rock star who always does an amazing job)

Flowers - Petal Pusher

LOVE the pockets on these adorable little dresses. It doesn't hurt that they all look gorgeous in them!

Pretty details

I mentioned down on their engagement session post that Carlos is a huge ASU alumn fan, so Ally surprised him by having Sparky show up to cut the cake -- and then cut it up on the dance floor.

Thanks Ally and Carlos for allowing me to capture your gorgeous day! It was a pleasure working with you both and I wish you all the happiness together in the world :)

Monday, May 18, 2009

We are now offering these beautiful, completely custom designed Portfolio Image Boxes. I love these! The are hand-crafted with your favorite images and bold beautiful patterns to hold up to 15 matted 5x7 or 8x10 prints, or hundreds of your favorite loose prints. These image boxes are a fantastic way to display your favorite photographs of your children or your wedding images. They provide a nice alternative to a coffee table album or just as an additional way to show and share your proofs.

I'll post more images soon but wanted to share this box that just arrived!

Boxes can be added to any portrait session or wedding package. Inquire for pricing.

The Jarman Family
Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Speaking of nice Mom's, many of you know that fellow Phoenix photographer Kim Jarman is a good friend of mine. Several weeks before Mother's Day, her husband Jamie emailed that he wanted to surprise her with some images of him and their 10 month old daughter Kailee as a gift. We decided to meet at the Phoenix Zoo (they love it there and Jordan had been asking to go again) to capture some shots of the two of them together on a day when Kim had planned to go into the studio before a wedding she was helping a friend shoot that day. All was going as planned until Kim decided the night before she would much rather go to the zoo with her family! So Jamie decided to just tell her that I was going to meet them there to capture some 'surprise' shots. I knew she would be happy since she had been telling me she wanted some recent family photos of the 3 of them and we had been trying to coordinate anyway. So it all worked out even better and Jamie won "Husband of the Year" for thinking of something so sweet for his wife for Mother's Day!

Here are some favorites from our shoot there::

Kim's Mom and Dad were also on hand so we captured some fun and goofy shots of all of them -- Kim said this was her favorite family shot!
