I also photographed Ashley and Kyle's engagement session recently. They chose to do their session at the
Paradise Valley Country Club to start and then follow it up at the McCormick-Stillman train park to play! We really had a great time during their session and especially at the park, which is my home away from home these days since my J likes to go there all the time. We also had a ton of wind that day, which was great photographically, but I felt bad for Ashley since it was freezing! Well, 58 degrees in AZ is freezing :-)
Ashley and Kyle are getting married at
Montelucia this June and I'm really looking forward to photographing their wedding!
Ashley kind of reminds me of Jennifer Connelly here...

Kim and I are excited to release the details of the 2-day intensive workshop in Sedona, Arizona! This workshop primarily arose out of both of us receiving emails from previous workshop attendees and other photographers out there asking for a more advanced type of workshop/training. In an effort to help others with specific challenges and questions, we put together this intensive workshop to address more on the business side of photography.
We hope you can join us Friday, August 7-Sunday, August 9, 2009 for what is sure to be a jam-packed weekend full of learning, fun and friendship building. This workshop will marry both the art of photography with the critical business skills necessary for success.

So I am a member of
Bright Event Gallery, which is a fantastic all-in-one-stop-shop for couples getting married. Victoria Canada and Kelly Gill of A Bright Event are the owners, which includes Victoria Canada Weddings & Events planning firm, as well as a boutique that features anything and everything the couple-to-be may need for her wedding day (including gift bags for incoming guests, Japanese style parasol umbrellas, wedding workbooks, table cards, cake toppers and more...
click here to see several of their in-store retail items or you can
buy directly online as well.)
Anyway, each month they feature a table designed by a Phoenix-based vendor and last month they asked me to come photograph the adorable table display by Kelly Ashworth of
Kelly Ashworth Design. Kelly is a super talented graphic designer here in town - be sure to check out her work. She pulled together
this fantastic baby-shower-themed table called 'For the Birds," but so many of these elements would work well for a bridal shower or other luncheon as well. Who knew that carnations bunched into a small square glass vase could be so cute??!
I had to feature this table because I loved it so much!
Cute hanging lanterns above the table.
More details of the table - love those birds and bees!
If you want to see where Kelly bought several of these items check out her blog (link above). Be sure to check
Kelly's Baby Announcement cards and Wedding Invitations as well. She used a few of my images for some of her baby card designs and I think these are simply adorable!

I feel so fortunate that I was able to kick off my wedding season with Kaoife and Josh's wedding last week at
Sassi in North Scottsdale. They are such a kind couple and their wedding was filled with so much emotion
and fun, not to mention the absolutely perfect AZ spring weather and that Sassi is always so great to shoot at, so it was such a wonderful day all around! Kaoife is from Ireland, so they incorporated some traditional Irish ceremony rituals and I know it meant a great deal to them that so many people traveled so far to be a part of their day.
I also want to mention that Kate & Gretchen with
Imoni Events helped plan the wedding and coordinated their day flawlessly. These two are so on top of their game, not to mention very professional and kind, that they really made things flow well, which I think makes the day more fun for all everyone involved - exactly as it supposed to be!

Kaoife's dad gave a toast at the reception that did not leave a dry eye in the house, including mine!
Josh and his boys all looking quite dapper
One of my favorite parts of the day -when the couple is "officially" married and the resulting expressions of emotion are so genuine.
Yummy light.
I adore this next shot. I think its one of my favorites from the day.
I have no idea why, but I was loving the low, warm light and juxtaposition of the busy kitchen behind them as we walked by it to the cocktail reception.
I don't normally post family formals, but I had to show this one of Proud Papa with his FOUR gorgeous daughters! A lucky man indeed.
I love this candid of Kaoife at the cocktail reception
Congratulations Kaoife and Josh! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your moving wedding and capturing your day! I also want to thank my good friend and the very talented
Andy Andrews for shooting their wedding with me!
