Jennifer & Nathan's Wedding
Thursday, October 04, 2007

Jennifer and Nathan got married this past weekend at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale. It was a positively beautiful day. The sky was deep blue, the weather a little cooler, and we had a very soft breeze for the ceremony and evening -- perfection! And, I dont think I have ever had a more calm bride than Jennifer. Now I am lucky in that the vast majority of my brides are very cool women, and they bring that same sense of calm collect'dness (I know its not a word, but it should be!) with them on their wedding days -- albiet the butterflies and quiet nervousness -- but Jen was the essence of peaceful grace with no nervousness! She was just happy the entire day.

She and Nathan planned a smaller wedding and kept it intimate with close friends and family. Erini Macrides, the director of catering, was very hands on and really went out of her way to make the day special for Jen & Nathan. Little touches like champagne and finger food during the prep time were a nice addition for the bride and groom, and one of the banquet servers actually walked through sprinklers to bring champagne to them during our bride & groom picture taking time. Now that is service!

It was wonderful to share their wedding day with them. Here are few images from their day...

The pretty details. Jen's colors were green and brown, so The Bloom Room did a beautiful job of arranging variations of green and deep burgundy flowers.

You know how I love shoes!

The final touches for Jen ... and Nathan's best man Scott gathering up the rings before the ceremony.

I loved Alex (below)- Jen's nephew! He and his sister were so adorable and happy all day - and they both liked to mug for the camera.

Jennifer's father passed away four years ago, so she carried his picture with her all day in a locket on her bouquet.

One of my favorite moments, when Alex accidentally dropped his ring bearer pillow during the ceremony. He was very concerned about not disrupting the service, but I dont think Jen and Nathan were even aware any of this was happening.

He timed it perfectly and sat down just before the kiss. Way to go Alex!

A few bride and groom portraits during the last light of evening

A final shot at Sunset Pointe before the reception

I loved their chocolate & green cake! Beautiful and so unique.

I really like this shot despite the fact that the shutter speed was too slow. But I think that gives it a little magic.

Jen's grandparents were amazing! They have been married 62 years and danced the night away. I talked to Grandpa for a while and he told me the secret to a successful, long-term marriage is to kiss your love each morning when you wake up and before you go to bed each night. I found them so inspiring and adorable. They genuinely seemed as in love and affectionate today as they likely were 60 years ago. Actually, I'm sure it's much deeper now given all that time.

I think this moment says it all.

Thank you for sharing your day with me Jen & Nathan. I hope you are having a blast in Hawaii!
